From a wrecked 2006 Murcielago to a one-of-a-kind SEMA showpiece, the collaboration reimagines one of Lamborghini’s most iconic V12 supercars

SAN DIEGO – Aug. 31, 2026 – WD-40® Brand and Throtl will debut a Liberty Walk, twin-turbocharged, manual-swapped 2006 Lamborghini Murcielago at SEMA 2026 in Las Vegas this November, marking the most ambitious build yet between the partners.

Announced on Throtl’s YouTube channel, the five-part build series will document the transformation of a wrecked 2006 Lamborghini Murcielago into a one-of-a-kind vehicle built to honor and elevate the legacy of the iconic V12 supercar. The project is the second vehicle build between WD-40 Brand and Throtl and follows their showstopping 2005 Ford GT build.

“We chose the Murcielago as a car that could stand alongside the Ford GT as its own icon,” said Quinn Clark, lead builder at Throtl Inc. “Widely regarded as one of Lamborghini’s most significant models, the Murcielago represents the end of the Bizzarrini V12 era, an engine that powered the flagship Lamborghini for almost 50 years. Among enthusiasts, it’s often called the ‘last true Lamborghini,’ and this build is designed to push that reputation even further.”

The custom 2006 Lamborghini Murcielago will feature:

•    Liberty Walk Silhouette WORKS Murcielago GT EVO Widebody Conversion
•    Fully Built Lamborghini LP640 6.5L V12 Engine
•    Custom Garrett Twin Turbocharger System
•    MoTeC Engine Management System
•    Royalty Exotics 6-Speed Gated Manual Conversion
•    Air Lift Performance Air Suspension
•    Custom HRE Performance Forged Wheels
•    Bespoke Alcantara and Leather Interior by AP Upholstery
•    Complete Body Restoration and Custom Paint by Torrey Pines Collision Center

“For more than 70 years, WD-40 Brand has created trusted solutions that help professionals get tough jobs done right,” said Felicia Reno, U.S. brand director at WD-40 Company. “As we continue to elevate the brand and partner with experts like Throtl, we want to put our solutions to the test on a build that requires grit, perseverance and creative problem-solving from start to finish.”

“We want to build something that feels like the ultimate version of a Murcielago,” said Evan Beckerman, co-founder of Throtl Inc. “Something that captures why people dream about these cars in the first place, while pushing the platform much further.”
